Looking at the masthead - ‘College Lifestyle’ we know that this magazine is directed towards a younger audience, in college. The way the man is dressed in the photo suggests that he is intelligent and enthusiastic to learn. They have made the photo in black and white in order to make the cover lines stand out and catch the viewers’ eyes. The magazine has used three or four different fonts in order to make the magazine look more trendy and appealing to their target audience. They have used a brighter font colour for the masthead- again to appeal to the audience and to draw more attention than the over lines. They have shown the iPad on the cover as technology is usually associated with the younger generation and would catch their eye. The use of the words ‘sexy’ and ‘flirtatious’ make the magazine sound more informal. This grabs the target audience’s attention as they are stereotyped to not read- informal writing will make it easier for the reader to read.

Are you male or female? 65% of the people that answered were female and 35% were male
Do you read the college magazine? 95% of the people answered said no whereas 5% said yes. This means that the current product isn’t good enough as no one is buying it.
What colours do you want to be used on the magazine? White, Blue, Black was chosen but my secondary colours could be Green, Red and Yellow. So I could possibly have different colours on my magazine each week to cater for my whole audience.
How much money would you be prepared to pay? 85% of the people that answered said nothing/50p. I would sell my magazine for 50p as 15% of people said that they would pay more than 50p so it works for them as well.
When would you want the magazine to be released? 70% of people said monthly or every half-term. This means I will most likely release an issue a month, this means that I will be releasing 10 a year.
What house style would you want the magazine to be? 10% of people said formal, 50% of people said informal and 40% of people said mixed. So I will make my magazine a mixture between formal and informal because it will be appropriate for everyone.
What would you like the magazine to feature? Music, College trips and Free Gifts were chosen however I will still include other things such as Sport, TV/Film and fashion because they were also chosen the most.
What would you like to be on the cover? 30% of people choice celebs, 40% of people said students and 30% of people said nature. I will most likely switch each cover photo around weekly so my whole audience is happy as it is too even to ignore a certain area.
Would you like a job page? 100% of the people said yes meaning that I will obviously include a jobs page as a lot of students need jobs to get money, this could be a huge selling point for the magazine.
